Organic Box Scheme
Why buy organic vegetables or fruit when they are generally more expensive, do not have the same shelf life, often look inferior and do not have the same taste appeal as many non-organic green groceries?
On the plus side- they have less pesticides and chemical preservatives, they will have (on average) higher vitamin and mineral content, and probably most significantly they will contain a range of healthy nutrients (polyphenols) which plants develop as protection against insects and disease- but which are usually at negligible levels in non-organic greens or fruit.
Millmark Foods takes orders for organic fruit and vegetables which we select and collect from The Organic Stores (based in Sealand, Chester). They have one of the largest range of organic groceries in the North-West. We collect once a week every Friday and customers can collect their order from Millmark during Friday afternoon or all day Saturday. Orders must be made with Millmark by Thursday. We do not put a minimum threshold on any order. A charge is made for collection.
