You can also use supplements, herbal remedies and dietary measures to help prevent further flare-ups. Cherry juice- particularly from tart or Montmerency cherries-, for example, lowers uric acid levels; and celery juice, which promotes the flow of urine through the kidneys, can also relieve symptoms.  The herb nettle can also reduce both inflammation and uric acid levels. Avoiding foods high in purine can help.  Drink more fluids to help flush excess uric acid from your body.
